This Waterway Filter - 2" 50sqft bypass valve brominator includes a bypass valve that opens when water pressure is high, to prevent damage to the filter cartridge. The water is 100% filtered when the pump is running at low speed. The valve opens to allow unfiltered water to pass through when the pump is running at high speed. This also prevents loss of pressure in the massage nozzles.
